Indications

Indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including: Respiratory tract infections Urinary tract infections Skin and soft tissue infections Gastrointestinal infections, including typhoid fever

Dosage & Administration

As directed by the physician. Dosage may vary based on the severity of the infection and patient condition. Adults & children over 12 years: One tablet twice daily or as prescribed.

Adverse Effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea Dizziness, headache Skin rash, itching Tendonitis or tendon rupture (rare, associated with fluoroquinolones) Seek immediate medical attention if serious allergic reactions occur.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Cefixime, Ofloxacin, or any other quinolones or cephalosporins. Patients with a history of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use. Severe renal impairment without appropriate dose adjustment.

Warnings & Precautions

Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. May cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or UV light due to the risk of photosensitivity reactions. Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures or CNS disorders.

Drug Interactions

Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum may reduce the absorption of Ofloxacin. Warfarin or other anticoagulants may require dose adjustments due to increased bleeding risk. Probenecid may increase Cefixime levels.

Storage Instructions

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. PRESENTATION: Schedule H Prescription Drug – To be sold by retail on prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
