About Celesta

Divers who wanted something better — so we built it.

Our Story

Built by divers, for divers

We started as divers. Not operators, not travel agents — divers. And like most divers who've done a few liveaboards, we had a growing list of frustrations. Boats that looked great in photos but were tired in person. Itineraries that prioritized convenience over the actual dive sites. Crew who meant well but lacked the experience to handle the conditions. Safety standards that varied wildly from trip to trip.

We didn't want to complain about it. We wanted to fix it. So instead of chartering someone else's boat and hoping for the best, we built our own — M/Y Celesta, a 2026 wood-built safari liveaboard designed specifically around what divers actually need. Every detail, from the dive deck layout to the cabin design to the safety equipment, was chosen by people who understand what it's like to be a guest on a liveaboard.

Celesta is the result of that belief: that the Red Sea deserves a liveaboard operation built on quality boats, thoughtful itineraries, and honest service. No overpromising. No cutting corners. Just good diving, done properly.

What We Stand For

Three things we refuse to compromise on

Safety & Expertise

SOLAS-rated life rafts, hardwired fire detection, emergency oxygen, AED, and satellite communications. Our crew holds proper maritime certifications, and we have an experienced professional technical diver aboard every single expedition. Safety isn't a checkbox — it's how we operate.

Unique Destinations

Our routes are designed around the dive sites, not the other way around. We plan itineraries based on seasons, conditions, and what each site demands — not what's easiest for the boat. From the Brothers and Daedalus to deep wrecks and remote southern reefs, every route has a purpose.

Boat Quality

We own M/Y Celesta. We don't charter her from someone else and hope they maintained her properly. Every system, every fitting, every piece of equipment is maintained to our standards. Scandinavian-inspired interiors, a spacious dive deck, and a boat that's built for the job — not repurposed from something else.

Our Crew

The people who make it happen

A liveaboard is only as good as its crew, and we hand-pick ours for professionalism, experience, and genuine passion for the sea. M/Y Celesta carries a crew of 12: a licensed captain with years of Red Sea navigation experience, a dedicated dive team including an experienced technical diver, a chef preparing fresh meals three times daily, and a deck crew that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

We don't rotate through agency staff. Our crew knows the boat, knows the routes, and knows what our guests expect. That consistency is something you'll notice from the moment you step aboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs Celesta?
Celesta is run by a team of passionate divers and marine professionals. We're not a booking agency or a charter broker — we own and operate M/Y Celesta ourselves. Every decision, from route planning to crew hiring, is made by people who actually dive these sites.
Where is Celesta based?
We're based in Hurghada, Egypt — the gateway to the Red Sea's best diving. All our expeditions depart from Hurghada's marina, with easy access from Hurghada International Airport.
How is Celesta different from other liveaboards?
We own our boat. That's the biggest difference. Most liveaboard operators charter vessels from third parties, which means they can't control maintenance, crew quality, or safety standards. Because M/Y Celesta is ours, we maintain her to our standards, hire our own crew, and design every trip around what the dive sites actually demand.
Do you support technical diving?
Yes. M/Y Celesta offers full technical diving support including Nitrox, Trimix capability, and CCR-friendly operations. We have an experienced professional technical diver aboard every expedition who can assist with planning and in-water support for advanced dives.
How long has Celesta been operating?
M/Y Celesta is a 2026 new-build — purpose-designed from the keel up for Red Sea liveaboard diving. While the boat is new, our team has years of experience diving and operating in the Red Sea. We built Celesta because we knew exactly what was missing from existing operations.
