Lozenges

Herbal and functional lozenges, built around your brief

Lozenges are one of the fastest-moving lines in consumer health: a distinctive flavour, a clean herbal story and a pack that stands out at the counter decide whether a brand sells. Hard-boiled lozenges are cooked from a sugar or sugar-free syrup for the classic slow-dissolving drop; compressed lozenges are pressed from a powder blend, which suits recipes rich in herb powder, vitamins or minerals.

How it works

How a lozenge order moves from recipe to carton

Decisions are taken in this order so that the samples you approve match what goes into production. Timelines and minimum quantities are fixed in the proposal.

  1. 01Recipe: format, base and actives

Pick hard-boiled for the classic slow-melting drop or compressed for recipes heavy in herb powder, vitamins or minerals, then a sugar or sugar-free base. Actives go in as raw herb powder, dry extract or liquid extract, and the formulation team balances the active load against taste.

  2. 02Samples: flavour, weight and finish

You receive lozenges in the flavours, colours, shapes and weights you shortlisted, and approve taste, hardness and how slowly each piece dissolves.

  3. 03Packing: blister, pouch, jar or bottle

Choose the primary pack and whether each blister holds one flavour or an assortment. Mono cartons, catch covers, display or dispenser boxes and leaflets complete the pack.

  4. 04Production: cooked or compressed batches

Hard-boiled batches are cooked and formed; compressed batches are blended and pressed. Every batch carries in-process checks and a batch record, under the state drug licence for Ayurvedic lozenges or FSSAI for food-type lozenges.

  5. 05Dispatch: shippers to your door or port

Display boxes are packed into printed or plain 5-ply or 7-ply corrugated shippers and sent to your warehouse or port of export, with the paperwork the destination asks for.

FAQs

Questions about lozenge manufacturing

1. Can I get lozenges manufactured under my own brand?

Yes. Celesta offers private-label and third-party lozenge manufacturing: your brand name, artwork, flavours and packs. The lozenges are produced and packed to your specification while we manage the project for you.

2. Hard-boiled or compressed: which lozenge format suits my product?

Hard-boiled lozenges dissolve slowly and suit throat, cough and flavour-led products. Compressed lozenges are pressed from a powder blend, which suits recipes with more herb powder, vitamins or minerals. We recommend a format once we have seen your ingredient list.

3. Can sugar-free lozenges be manufactured?

Yes. The base can be sugar or sugar-free, and both work with herbal powders, extracts and vitamin-fortified recipes. Taste and hardness are fine-tuned at the sample stage.

4. Can a custom herbal lozenge formulation be developed?

Yes. Pick the effect, for example sore throat relief, immune support or calm, and the herbs or vitamins you want. The recipe is developed by the formulation team and sampled for your approval before the first batch.

5. Can one blister hold several flavours?

Yes. A blister can carry a single flavour or an assortment, and a display box can hold same-flavour blisters or mixed-flavour blisters, a common choice for pharmacy counters.

6. What decides the minimum order for lozenges?

Mainly the format, the pack and whether the recipe already exists: a stock flavour in a standard blister is quicker to set up than a new formulation in a custom display box. Send your monthly estimate and the minimum is stated in the proposal.
