Indications

Indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including: Respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis) Skin and soft tissue infections Complicated intra-abdominal infections Bacterial conjunctivitis

Dosage & Administration

As directed by the physician. Dosage may vary based on the severity of the infection and patient condition. Adults: 400 mg once daily or as prescribed.

Adverse Effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea Dizziness, headache Tendon pain or inflammation Skin rash (rare) Seek immediate medical attention if serious allergic reactions occur.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin or other fluoroquinolones. History of tendon disorders related to quinolone use. Severe hepatic impairment.

Warnings & Precautions

Use with caution in patients with known QT prolongation or cardiac arrhythmias. May increase the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture, especially in elderly patients. Avoid excessive sun exposure; may cause photosensitivity reactions. May cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea; discontinue use if severe diarrhea occurs.

Drug Interactions

Antacids, iron, and zinc supplements may reduce the absorption of Moxifloxacin. Increased risk of QT prolongation with concurrent use of antiarrhythmic drugs. Avoid concurrent use with NSAIDs due to the potential for CNS stimulation and seizures.

Storage Instructions

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. PRESENTATION: Schedule H Prescription Drug – To be sold by retail on prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
