DOXYMINE TAB is an expertly balanced combination therapy indicated for the management of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP), commonly known as morning sickness. It integrates an antihistamine and vital vitamins to provide safe maternal relief while supporting healthy fetal neural development.
Indications
This medication is primarily indicated for:
- Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy (NVP): Effective management of morning sickness non-responsive to dietary adjustments.
- Nutritional Support: Supplying essential folic acid during early pregnancy to promote healthy embryonic development.
Dosage & Administration
The standard initial dose is one or two tablets at bedtime to control morning symptoms. If symptoms persist, a physician may add an additional tablet in the morning or afternoon based on clinical requirements.
Adverse Effects
Common side effects include:
- Drowsiness, somnolence, or morning sluggishness
- Dry mouth or blurred vision
- Mild gastrointestinal changes

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to doxylamine succinate, other ethanolamine derivative antihistamines, pyridoxine, or folic acid. Avoid use in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma.
Warnings & Precautions
May cause significant drowsiness; patients should be advised against driving or operating machinery immediately after consumption. Use with caution in individuals with asthma or bladder neck obstructions.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use with alcohol, central nervous system depressants, or sedatives can amplify somnolence. Avoid using concurrently with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs), as they prolong and intensify the anticholinergic effects of antihistamines.
