Product Overview
TANSAR 40 A TAB is a synergistic combination of an angiotensin receptor blocker and a calcium channel blocker designed for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately managed by monotherapy. This dual-mechanism tablet promotes optimal vasodilation and comprehensive arterial pressure regulation.
Indications
This combination tablet is indicated for:
- Treatment of essential hypertension inadequately controlled by telmisartan or amlogic monotherapy
- Second-line therapy for patients requiring multi-mechanism blood pressure control
- Reduction of risk for major cardiovascular events in hypertensive populations
Dosage & Administration
The standard dosage is one tablet daily, taken with or without food, preferably at the same time every day. Dose adjustment should be individualized based on the patient's therapeutic responses.
Adverse Effects
Side effects may include peripheral edema (ankle swelling), dizziness, flushing, palpitations, headache, fatigue, and occasional nausea.

Contraindications
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. Avoid in patients with severe cardiogenic shock, severe aortic stenosis, unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction, or severe hepatic dysfunction.
Warnings & Precautions
Amlodipine may rarely cause increased frequency or severity of angina at initiation, particularly in severe obstructive coronary artery disease. Regularly monitor blood pressure, renal function, and serum electrolytes during treatment.
Drug Interactions
Amlodipine metabolism can be altered by strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir) or inducers (e.g., rifampicin). Telmisartan may raise plasma levels of digoxin. Monitor clinical responses when co-administering these agents.
