Product Overview
TANSAR-40 H TAB is an effective dual-action antihypertensive medication used to manage high blood pressure. By combining an angiotensin receptor blocker with a thiazide diuretic, it optimizes blood pressure control and minimizes cardiovascular risks.
Indications
This medication is primarily indicated for:
- Hypertension: Management of essential high blood pressure when monotherapy is insufficient.
- Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Decreasing the incidence of stroke and myocardial infarction in hypertensive individuals.
Dosage & Administration
The standard adult dosage is one tablet once daily, taken orally with or without food. It is recommended to take the tablet at the same time each day to maintain stable plasma concentrations.

Contraindications
Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfonamide-derived drugs. Contraindicated during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, and in individuals with severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Warnings & Precautions
Regular monitoring of serum electrolytes, creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen is recommended. Use caution in patients with renal artery stenosis, aortic stenosis, or severe obstructive biliary disorders.
Drug Interactions
Co-administration with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics increases the risk of hyperkalemia. Concomitant use with NSAIDs may reduce the antihypertensive efficacy and worsen renal function.
