UD CIAN 450 is a high-strength, sustained-release therapeutic formulation of Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA). Indications
UD CIAN 450 is indicated for:
- Primary Biliary Cirrhosis/Cholangitis: Long-term management of chronic cholestatic conditions.
- Large Cholesterol Gallstones: Dissolution of radiolucent, non-calcified gallstones in symptomatic patients.
- Biliary Sludge Prophylaxis: Prevents stone formation during rapid weight loss periods or bariatric surgery.
Dosage & Administration
The recommended dosage is one 450mg sustained-release tablet daily, taken at night with food, or as directed by a specialist. The tablet must be swallowed whole to preserve its sustained-release structural characteristics.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients presenting with a non-functioning gallbladder, calcified gallstones, acute cholecystitis, biliary tract obstruction, or known allergy to bile acids.
Warnings & Precautions
Regular monitoring of liver function indices is required. Gallbladder imaging (ultrasound or cholecystography) should be conducted every 6 months to evaluate stone dissolution progress.
Drug Interactions
Avoid concurrent administration with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium, as they bind UDCA and lower efficacy. Clofibrate and oral contraceptives may increase gallstone formation risks, diminishing the drug's activity.
