ASCOCI XT SYP is a highly palatable, liquid hematinic supplement formulated for quick absorption and excellent gastrointestinal tolerance. It effectively treats iron deficiency states and iron deficiency anemia, making it ideal for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients who prefer a liquid formulation.
Indications
This medication is primarily indicated for:
- Iron Deficiency Anemia: Restores low hemoglobin levels caused by nutritional inadequacy or rapid growth phases.
- Prophylaxis in Pregnancy: Prevents maternal anemia and decreases the risk of low birth weight and neural tube abnormalities.
- Pediatric and Geriatric Nutritional Support: Manages iron and folate deficiency in populations with swallowing difficulties.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 5ml to 10ml twice daily. Children: As directed by the physician, typically measured via a calibrated syringe or cup. Best taken between meals for maximum absorption.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in cases of hemolytic anemia, hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis, repetitive blood transfusions, or hypersensitivity to iron or folic acid.
Warnings & Precautions
Do not exceed the recommended therapeutic dosage. Liquid iron preparations must be administered carefully to avoid dental staining. Use with caution in patients with inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal strictures.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant administration with calcium salts, magnesium salts, antacids, or thyroid hormones reduces therapeutic efficacy. Ensure a minimum dosing window of two hours between these therapies.
