Product Overview

FUSIBEC Cream is a dermatological formulation that treats bacterial skin infections accompanied by inflammation. It combines a topical antibiotic with a corticosteroid to eliminate infection-causing bacteria while reducing redness and swelling. This topical cream helps clear secondary bacterial infections in eczematous skin conditions.

Indications

FUSIBEC Cream is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses where a secondary bacterial infection is present or highly suspected:

  • Atopic Eczema: Manages inflamed, itchy skin flaps prone to staphylococcal colonization.
  • Contact Dermatitis: Treats acute skin inflammation caused by allergens or irritants complicated by superficial infection.
  • Seborrhoeic Dermatitis: Addresses scaling and inflammatory lesions on oily areas of the body showing secondary bacterial involvement.
  • Superficial Pyoderma: Resolves primary or secondary superficial bacterial infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, or infected minor cuts and grazes.

Dosage & Administration

For external use only. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the clean, dry, affected area 2 to 3 times daily. Rub in gently until fully absorbed. Wash hands thoroughly before and after application, unless the hands are the area receiving treatment. The typical duration of treatment spans 7 to 14 days; use should generally not exceed 2 weeks continuous application unless explicitly recommended by a medical professional.

Adverse Effects

Common localized reactions include a mild burning or stinging sensation immediately following application, transient pruritus, skin dryness, and localized erythema. Prolonged or excessive use can lead to local corticosteroid side effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia (visible broken veins), striae (stretch marks), or changes in pigmentation.

Contraindications

FUSIBEC Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fusidic acid, beclomethasone dipropionate, chlorocresol, or any components of the cream base. It must not be applied to untreated primary cutaneous viral infections (e.g., herpes simplex, chickenpox), fungal skin infections, cutaneous tuberculosis, syphilitic skin lesions, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, or open skin ulcers.

Warnings & Precautions

Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, mouth, and open deep wounds to prevent systemic mucosal irritation. Do not apply under tight occlusive dressings or bandages unless directed by a doctor, as occlusion dramatically increases systemic steroid absorption and the risk of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression. If severe local irritation develops or the clinical infection does not demonstrate improvement within 7 days, discontinue use and evaluate alternative therapies. Use with caution during pregnancy or lactation, ensuring it is not applied over large surface areas or the breasts.

Drug Interactions

As a topical preparation, systemic interactions are minimal. Concomitant application of other topical corticosteroids or skin products at the exact same site should be avoided. Maintain a minimum gap of 2 to 3 hours between different topical agents to avoid cross-dilution or altered therapeutic efficacy.

Storage Instructions

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from freezing and direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of reach of children.
