Product Overview

Aphyline N is an advanced mucolytic and bronchodilator formulation designed for comprehensive lung care in chronic respiratory disorders. By pairing Acebrophylline with high-dose N-Acetylcysteine, it rapidly breaks down thick, tenacious mucus while relaxing bronchial smooth muscles. This synergistic tablet improves pulmonary airflow, enhances sputum clearance, and reduces the frequency of acute COPD exacerbations.

Indications

This formulation is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Regular maintenance and management of acute exacerbations in moderate to severe COPD.
  • Chronic Bronchitis & Emphysema: Facilitating the expulsion of thick, viscous mucus and relieving chronic cough.
  • Acute Respiratory Tract Infections: Adjunctive therapy in bronchitis, pneumonia, and tracheobronchitis with heavy mucus secretion.
  • Bronchial Asthma with Mucus Plugging: Easing breathing by clearing obstructed airway passages.

Dosage & Administration

The recommended adult dose is one tablet twice daily after meals, or as directed by a pulmonologist or physician. Swallow the film-coated tablet whole with a full glass of water; do not crush or chew.

Adverse Effects

  • Nausea, vomiting, and epigastric discomfort
  • Heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux
  • Diarrhea or loose stools
  • Headache and dizziness

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Acebrophylline, N-Acetylcysteine, or other xanthine derivatives. Avoid use in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, acute hemodynamically unstable cardiac disease, or severe renal and hepatic failure.

Warnings & Precautions

Use with caution in patients with bronchial asthma experiencing acute bronchospasm, as mucolytic agents can sometimes increase sputum volume rapidly. Caution is also advised in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Drug Interactions

N-Acetylcysteine may react with antitussive drugs; suppressing the cough reflex while thinning mucus can lead to pulmonary congestion. Maintain a 2-hour interval between Aphyline N and oral antibiotics (such as tetracyclines, cephalosporins, or aminoglycosides) to prevent decreased antibiotic bioavailability.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly sealed and out of reach of children.
