Product Overview
BILAXEN is a non-sedating second-generation antihistamine designed for the effective management of allergic conditions. It provides rapid and long-lasting relief from systemic allergic symptoms without causing drowsiness, supporting patient productivity.
Indications
This medication is primarily indicated for:
- Allergic Rhinitis: Alleviates sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, and congestion.
- Allergic Rhinoconjunctivitis: Relieves ocular symptoms including eye itching, tearing, and redness.
- Urticaria: Manages chronic hives, skin rashes, and severe itching.
Dosage & Administration
The standard adult dosage is one 20 mg tablet once daily. It must be taken one hour before or two hours after food or fruit juice to prevent reduced bioavailability.

Contraindications
Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to bilastine or any component of the formulation.
Warnings & Precautions
Concomitant administration with P-glycoprotein inhibitors (such as ketoconazole or erythromycin) in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment should be avoided as it increases plasma concentrations of bilastine.
Drug Interactions
Food and fruit juices (especially grapefruit juice) significantly decrease the absorption of bilastine. Co-administration with ketoconazole, erythromycin, or diltiazem increases bilastine plasma levels.
