CELKOF L is a comprehensive antitussive and decongestant syrup designed to alleviate dry cough, nasal congestion, and allergic symptoms associated with the common cold. The balanced formulation targets both respiratory irritation and nasal passageway swelling to restore comfortable breathing.
Indications
This medication is primarily indicated for:
- Dry Cough: Temporary relief of non-productive cough caused by minor throat and bronchial irritation.
- Nasal Decongestion: Relieving sinus pressure and nasal blockages due to the common cold or upper respiratory allergies.
- Allergic Rhinitis: Alleviating sneezing, runny nose, itching, and watery eyes.
Dosage & Administration
Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 5 ml to 10 ml up to three or four times daily. Pediatric use should be strictly guided by a registered medical practitioner based on age and body weight.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, or those currently taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing MAOI therapy.
Warnings & Precautions
Use with caution in individuals suffering from diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, or cardiovascular disease. Avoid driving or operating machinery if drowsiness occurs.
Drug Interactions
May interact severely with MAOIs, causing hypertensive crises. Concomitant use with central nervous system depressants, alcohol, or sedatives can amplify drowsiness and respiratory depression.
