Product Overview

CIAN CLAV DRY SYP is a potent broad-spectrum antibacterial dry syrup formulated for pediatric use to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Combining an advanced penicillin antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor, it effectively overcomes bacterial resistance.

Indications

This antibacterial suspension is indicated for:

  • Acute Otitis Media: Treats bacterial infections of the middle ear in children.
  • Respiratory Tract Infections: Manages acute sinusitis, tonsillitis, and community-acquired bronchopneumonia.
  • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Treats abscesses, cellulitis, and wound infections caused by susceptible pathogens.

Dosage & Administration

To be administered orally to pediatric patients. The precise dose depends on body weight and infection severity, as calculated by a pediatrician. Reconstitute the dry powder with sterile water up to the mark before dispensing; shake well before each dose.

Adverse Effects

Common adverse effects include diarrhea, loose stools, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, and occasional transient skin rashes.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with a history of severe hypersensitivity or anaphylactic reactions to penicillin, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics, and in patients with a history of amoxicillin-associated hepatic dysfunction.

Warnings & Precautions

Use with caution in pediatric patients with confirmed hepatic or renal impairment. Prolonged use may occasionally lead to overgrowth of non-susceptible fungal organisms. Discontinue immediately if allergic skin reactions appear.

Drug Interactions

Concurrent administration with Probenecid decreases renal clearance and increases systemic concentrations of Amoxicillin. Allopurinol taken concurrently may elevate the incidence of secondary skin rashes.

Storage Instructions

Store the dry powder below 25°C in a dry environment. Following reconstitution with water, store the liquid suspension in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C, and consume it within seven days. Discard any unused portion.
