Product Overview

CIANCLAV 625 TAB [NEW] is a powerful broad-spectrum antibiotic combination formulated to treat tough bacterial infections. By pairing amoxicillin with a beta-lactamase inhibitor, it overcomes common mechanisms of bacterial resistance.

Indications

This antibiotic is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Lower Respiratory Tract Infections: Acute bacterial bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.
  • Acute Bacterial Sinusitis and Otitis Media: Infections resistant to standalone penicillins.
  • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Cellulitis, animal bites, and severe dental abscesses.
  • Urinary Tract Infections: Uncomplicated cystitis and pyelonephritis.

Dosage & Administration

The standard adult dosage is one tablet twice or thrice daily based on infection severity. It should be administered at the start of a meal to optimize absorption and minimize gastrointestinal intolerance.

Adverse Effects

  • Diarrhea or loose stools
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Cutaneous skin rash or urticaria
  • Oral or vaginal candidiasis

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with a confirmed history of severe hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Also contraindicated in patients with a history of amoxicillin-clavulanate-associated hepatic dysfunction.

Warnings & Precautions

Serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity (anaphylactic) reactions have been reported. Prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial overgrowth, including Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhea.

Drug Interactions

Probenecid decreases the renal tubular secretion of amoxicillin, leading to prolonged blood levels. Concurrent use with oral anticoagulants may prolong prothrombin time, requiring dosage adjustments.

Storage Instructions

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from direct moisture and sunlight.
