Product Overview

CIANCLAV LB Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination formulated to treat diverse bacterial infections while maintaining healthy gut flora. The addition of Lactic Acid Bacillus helps prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea commonly caused by strong antibacterial therapies.

Indications

This medication is primarily indicated for:

  • Respiratory Tract Infections: Acute sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, and chronic bronchitis.
  • Urinary Tract Infections: Cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis.
  • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Cellulitis, animal bites, and severe dental abscesses.

Dosage & Administration

The standard adult dosage is one tablet twice or thrice daily, adjusted according to infection severity. It should be taken at the start of a meal to optimize absorption and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with a history of severe hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics (penicillins and cephalosporins) or a history of amoxicillin-clavulanate-associated hepatic dysfunction.

Warnings & Precautions

Periodic evaluation of renal, hepatic, and hematopoietic functions is advised during prolonged therapy. Discontinue immediately if an allergic reaction or skin rash appears.

Drug Interactions

Concomitant use with Probenecid reduces renal excretion of Amoxicillin. May decrease the efficacy of oral contraceptives. Concurrent administration with Allopurinol increases the risk of skin rashes.
