Indications
This capsule formulation is indicated for systemic and cutaneous fungal infections, including:
- Onychomycosis: Fungal infections affecting the fingernails or toenails.
- Tinea Infections: Severe cases of Tinea corporis (ringworm), Tinea cruris (jock itch), and Tinea pedis (athlete's foot).
- Systemic Mycoses: Aspergillosis, Blastomycosis, and Histoplasmosis.
Dosage & Administration
The adult dosage typically ranges from 100 mg to 200 mg once daily. For optimal absorption, the capsule must be swallowed whole immediately after a full, main meal. The treatment duration varies depending on the specific infection type and clinical response.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with ventricular dysfunction (such as chronic heart failure), known hypersensitivity to azole antifungals, or during pregnancy. Co-administration with certain CYP3A4 substrates is strictly prohibited.
Warnings & Precautions
Monitor liver function tests periodically during extended treatment courses. Caution is advised in patients with pre-existing hepatic or renal impairment. If symptoms indicative of hepatitis or congestive heart failure occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician.
Drug Interactions
Co-administration with gastric acid neutralizers (antacids, H2 blockers, PPIs) markedly lowers Itraconazole absorption. Itraconazole can significantly increase plasma levels of Statins, Warfarin, Digoxin, and Cyclosporine by inhibiting their clearance pathways.
