Product Overview
FLU CIAN TAB [NEW] is a systemic antifungal medication containing high-purity Fluconazole. It is highly effective against a wide spectrum of superficial and systemic fungal infections, particularly candidial conditions.
Indications
This medication is primarily indicated for:
- Vaginal Candidiasis: Acute or recurrent episodes.
- Dermatophytosis: Tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and pityriasis versicolor.
- Oropharyngeal and Esophageal Candidiasis: Fungal mucosal infections.
Dosage & Administration
For vaginal candidiasis: A single oral dose of 150 mg. For dermatomycoses: 150 mg once weekly for 2 to 4 weeks, or as precisely dictated by the severity of the infection and clinical guidelines.
Adverse Effects
Common effects include headache, nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, mild elevations in liver transaminases, and transient cutaneous rash.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to azole derivatives. Co-administration with drugs known to prolong the QT interval (e.g., terfenadine, cisapride) is strictly contraindicated.
Warnings & Precautions
Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment. Rare cases of severe hepatotoxicity have been reported; monitor liver function if signs appear. Assess cardiac risk factors before prescribing.
Drug Interactions
Fluconazole is a potent inhibitor of CYP2C9 and CYP3A4. It increases plasma concentrations of warfarin, phenytoin, cyclosporine, sulfonylureas, and statins, necessitating dosage adjustments.
