Contraindications

Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolone antimicrobials. Do not use in patients with a history of tendon rupture, epilepsy, or in pediatric populations where skeletal growth plates are still developing.

Warnings & Precautions

Fluoroquinolones carry an increased risk of tendon damage, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects like anxiety or confusion. Patients should avoid excessive exposure to direct sunlight or UV rays during therapy due to the risk of photosensitivity. Adjust dosages carefully in patients with renal impairment.

Drug Interactions

Avoid taking this medication concurrently with divalent or trivalent cations (like iron, calcium, zinc, or magnesium antacids), which decrease antibiotic absorption. Closely monitor prothrombin time if co-administered with oral anticoagulants like warfarin.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C in a dry place. Protect from direct heat, sunlight, and moisture.
