Indications
This antihistamine tablet is clinically indicated for:
- Allergic Rhinitis: Provides rapid relief from sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal pruritus, and ocular burning.
- Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria: Minimizes the presentation of itchy hives, skin wheals, and localized swelling.
- Allergic Conjunctivitis: Reduces tear secretion, redness, and itching of the eyes.

Adults and children aged 12 years and older: One 10 mg tablet orally once daily, with or without food. For patients with severe hepatic impairment, an initial dose of 10 mg every alternate day is advised.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients who demonstrate documented hypersensitivity or idiosyncratic reactions to loratadine, desloratadine, or any inert excipients in the tablet.
Warnings & Precautions
Patients with severe hepatic impairment should receive a reduced initial dose due to decreased clearance of the drug. Antihistamines should be discontinued at least 48 hours before undergoing diagnostic skin allergy testing to prevent false-negative results.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant administration with CYP3A4 or CYP2D6 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, erythromycin, or cimetidine may increase plasma concentrations of loratadine slightly, though this rarely translates into clinical adverse symptoms.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry environment. Keep the tablets inside their original blister packaging until use to protect from ambient light.
