Product Overview
MONTACIAN SYRUP is an effective antiallergic and respiratory combination formulated to manage seasonal allergies and allergic asthma in pediatric patients. It helps relieve symptoms such as running nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and breathing difficulties.
Indications
This syrup is indicated for:
- Allergic Rhinitis: Management of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms in children.
- Allergic Asthma: As adjunctive therapy for mild to moderate persistent asthma associated with allergic rhinitis.
Dosage & Administration
As directed by the physician. The standard dose for children aged 2 to 11 years is typically 5 ml once daily, preferably in the evening.

Contraindications
Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, montelukast, cetirizine, or any excipients. Contraindicated in pediatric patients with severe renal impairment.
Warnings & Precautions
May cause somnolence; monitor children performing activities requiring mental alertness. Neuropsychiatric events, including mood changes or irritability, have been reported with montelukast use; monitor patient behavior closely.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant administration with central nervous system depressants or alcohol may increase drowsiness. Metabolism of montelukast may be decreased when co-administered with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors like phenobarbital or rifampicin.
