Product Overview
OFCIAN 200 TAB is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic formulated to eliminate bacterial infections affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It ensures reliable clinical efficacy and high systemic bioavailability for faster recovery.
Indications
This antibiotic is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate bacterial infections, including:
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Both complicated and uncomplicated cystitis or pyelonephritis.
- Respiratory Tract Infections: Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.
- Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Uncomplicated bacterial dermatological infections.
- Pelvic Inflammatory Disease: Managed in combination with appropriate antianaerobic coverage.
Dosage & Administration
The usual adult oral dosage is 200 mg to 400 mg taken every 12 hours, depending on the severity and site of infection. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones. Avoid use in individuals with a history of tendonitis or tendon rupture associated with fluoroquinolone administration.
Warnings & Precautions
Fluoroquinolones are associated with an increased risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture across all ages. Use with extreme caution in patients with central nervous system disorders predisposing to seizures, or in individuals with a prolonged QT interval.
Drug Interactions
Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum, iron supplements, and multivitamins containing zinc reduce the gastrointestinal absorption of ofloxacin; take these at least 2 hours apart. May increase the plasma levels of theophylline when co-administered.
