Product Overview
PANCI 20 TAB is a low-dose proton pump inhibitor (PPI) designed for the precise management of acid reflux, mild gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and maintenance therapy for healed erosive esophagitis. It effectively regulates gastric acid secretion to prevent mucosal irritation.
Indications
This gastrointestinal medication is indicated for:
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Manages mild acid reflux symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation.
- Maintenance of Healing: Prevents the recurrence of erosive esophagitis after initial healing is achieved.
- NSAID-Induced Gastropathy Protection: Reduces the risk of gastric ulcers in patients requiring continuous long-term NSAID therapy.
Dosage & Administration
The standard adult dosage is one tablet of 20 mg daily, taken 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast. The tablet must be swallowed whole with water and never crushed or chewed.
Adverse Effects
Common adverse clinical effects include headache, mild diarrhea, abdominal pain, flatulence, and dizziness.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or other substituted benzimidazoles (e.g., omeprazole, rabeprazole).
Warnings & Precautions
Symptomatic response to therapy does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy. Long-term PPI therapy may increase the risk of osteoporosis-related fractures and hypomagnesemia; regular monitoring is advised for extended treatments.
Drug Interactions
Pantoprazole can alter gastric pH, which may significantly reduce the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of pH-dependent drugs such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, and certain antiretroviral agents like atazanavir.
